It is extremely important to review this list prior to booking any Semi-Permanent Makeup procedures at our studio. It may slightly vary from different places and depending on the artists. Our client's safety and a perfect result are our priorities. Clients who have any of these listed contraindications are not a candidate for semi-permanent makeup procedures.
 

Lip Blush is semi-permanent makeup procedure that helps to add color to the lips, improve symmetry, and add definition to the lips.

Pre-Care

• Please plan on arriving 20 - 30 Minutes in advance for numbing process.

• Please BRING your choice of lip color / lip tint. Keep in mind it should be a "blush" color that meant to enhance your natural lip color, NOT a lipstick! Suggestion: You can find and try different lip tint colors at Sephora or Ultra and bring that color to us. It will help simplify color finding process at the appointment.

• 24 Hours Prior: NO alcohol, Caffein, Ibuprofen, or Aspirin.

• 1-2 Days Prior:

• Exfoliate your lips. This is very important in order to help color absorbs better. Use any gentle exfoliation products or methods such as brown sugar paste.

• Keep your lips super moisturized with Vaseline. The softer and less dry, the better. Dry/cracked lips have a harder time taking in pigment, it is also more painful.

• NO fish oil

• ***Attention: If you have history of cold sore (even once anytime in the past), make sure to get doctor's prescription and take the medication 2 days prior and after to the procedure. Cold sore comes back due to any stress on the lip area, meaning Lip blush will trigger it again. Do not take this lightly as it will more likely come back because you have had cold sore in your system.

• 1 Week Prior: Stop taking blood thinning supplements such as Fish oil and Vitamin E.

• If you plan on getting Lip Fillers before the procedure, please do so 3-4 weeks prior.

• If you plan on getting Lip Fillers after the procedure, please wait for 8 weeks for color to completely settle.

When To Receive Lip Filler PRIOR to Lip Blush:

• Small, thin or hidden Lips: It would be more beneficial to receive Lip Filler prior to Lip Blush so that, the lips are more plumped and more visible for us to deposit pigment.

• Wrinkled Lips: Lip filler will help smooth out the lines which, will help with healing of Lip Blush. Pigment tends to get stuck in the wrinkles and may heal more pigmented (i.e. stripes).

• Significant asymmetry: Lip filler helps to improve the symmetry with plumpness and Lip Blush helps to balance it out further more.

• Want to increase in size of lips: It is best to get Lip Filler first, as this will plump the lips therefore increases the volume. Then, Lip Blush will blend the outer vermilion border into the lip tissue, making them look more real and avoiding that duck-look as oppose to just filler alone.

Expectations

• Lips are the most tender area surrounded by delicate mucous membrane. We do numb the area before and during the procedure. However, you would still feel a little sensation but bearable.

• Swelling right after the treatment is completely normal. Don't be alarmed! This will go down within the next hours. If you ice them, they go down even faster.

• Bright color like red lipstick within the first few days is completely normal.

• After peeling is over, it is completely normal for the lips to look very pale and somewhat uneven. Don't be alarmed! The pigment will continue to show and even themselves out within the next 7 weeks.

• If you have melanin lips, you may also experience hyperpigmentation (look even darker) or hypo pigmentation (look light in certain parts). Don't be alarmed! The melanin and pigment will eventually blend into each other within the next 7-8 weeks. Sometimes, third touch up may be needed depending on how dark the original lips are.

After Care

• First 1 Week: Avoid hot food / drink directly touching the lips. You can still eat/drink them, just don't let them directly touching the lip tissues. Heat will make pigment peel off quick.

• Use straws if you need to.

• Be careful when you brush your teeth with toothpaste as well. Toothpaste has fluoride.

• Apply the given ointment MULTIPLE times a day with new q-tips each time. Do not use your finger to prevent any bacteria that can lead to infection.

• When the ointment runs out, use Vaseline or Aquafor.

• First 2-3 days, lips will feel very dry and tight.

• 4th day: the lips start to peel off. This is when the chapped lips feel the strongest.

​

• After crust has peeled off, the lips look VERY pale like there is no color left. This is completely normal, the color will reappear in the next few weeks. Continue to use Vaseline 2-3 times/day for the next 7-8 weeks.

• If you want to wear lipstick, ALWAYS remember to put a thin base of Vaseline. Do not let lipstick directly applied to new lip tissue.

 

• Final result cannot be judged after 2 months.
